WHAT TO EXPECT

Day 1 - BILBAO

Arrive at BilbaoGuided tour of the city, a city that for its history and location, it offers a formidable cocktail where architecture, tradition, sea and mountains, nature and history combine to perfection. We will have a pintxos based dinner, accompanied by the txikiteo tradition (order for little glasses of wine).

Transfer to hotel and accommodation.

 

Day 2 - BILBAO 

Breakfast in the hotel.

Then we will cross the iconic Ria of Bilbao from another point of view. We will sail through the Ria from the pier Pio Baroja, visiting the attractions in the centre of Bilbao, from City Hall to the Vizcaya Bridge through Zorrozaurre. It will be like browsing history. Now some free time to enjoy shopping and having lunch.

In the afternoon, guided visit to the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao. Defined as the best building in the second half of the twentieth century, it has transformed the city, placing it in the world and radically changing its image.

If by contrast, you prefer something more classic or ancient art, do not hesitate to visit Bellas Artes de Bilbao, characterized by its chronological breadth, covering from the thirteenth century to the present day, containing a great diversity of artistic expressions.

Free time for dinner.

Transfer to hotel and accommodation.

 

Day 3 - BILBAO

Breakfast in the hotel.

In the morning, visit to the Vizcaya Bridge from above and from below. In 2006, it was declared a Monument of Humanity by UNESCO. Its construction, a steel structure inspired by the Eiffel Tower, joins Portugalete and Las Arenas (Getxo). It’s the end of the Ria de Bilbao, a few meters from its mouth in the Bay of Biscay.

Please note that this tour is a culture and food tour. But, you will get a pair of local snacks as well as a walk through Bilbao in order to learn about the Basque culture and gastronomy. Please note that you will not receive a full meal.
