WHAT TO EXPECT

Day 1 - DONOSTIA - SAN SEBASTIÁN

Arrival to Donostia – San Sebastian, also known as the Pearl of the Cantabrian Sea, is one of the cities that best combines food, culture and beauty, joining them all with unique natural surroundings plus making the traveller feel like part of the city.

Transfer to the hotel and accommodation.

 

Day 2 - DONOSTIA - SAN SEBASTIÁN

Breakfast at the hotel.

During the morning take a sightseeing tour of the romantic city that runs along Cortázar’s Eixample, designed in the second half of the nineteenth century after the demolition of the walls protecting the town.

Lunch: Pintxo tour, feel like a real “Donostiarra” and enjoy the true miniature cuisine.

In the afternoon, visit the Museum of San Telmo, a museum located in the old part depicting the cultural and historical germ of today’s society from a multidisciplinary and open view.

Free time to enjoy the city.

An antique car ride to the restaurant with 3 Michelin stars that we will visit in the city, Arzak ***.

Transfer to hotel.

 

Day 3 - GETARIA

Breakfast at the hotel.

An antique car ride to Getaria, a traditional fishing village which is reflected in its cuisine. A beautiful village on Gipuzkoa’s coast with a great seafaring tradition, famous restaurants with grilled fish, beaches, a marina and spectacular scenery. Guided tour through the old town.

Visit the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum in the new annex to the Palacio Aldamar. This palace is located on a hill where it topographically crowns Getaria. Since we cannot miss the delights that are so typical in this seaside town, we will taste them in our favourite downtown deli.

Lunch at one of the best restaurants in town, restaurant Kaia-Kaipe where tradition and good ingredients have managed to take their dishes to the finest tastiness for all senses.

Ride back to Donostia-San Sebastián and free time to continue enjoying the city.

 

Day 4 - HONDARRIBIA

Breakfast at the hotel.

An antique car ride to Hondarribia and a tour of the medieval town, a walk through its streets is priceless, full of colour and history, it is one of the pleasures that you cannot miss.

Then we will visit one of the most emblematic Txakoli wineries of the area.

At lunch, we will do a Pintxo tour through the old town of the fishing village, where we will sample the nouvelle cuisine in miniature size.

In the afternoon, free time.

At a scheduled time the antique car will pick us up at the hotel to take us to our third Michelin star restaurant, Martin Berasategui ***.

Transfer to hotel.

 

Day 5 - CIDER AND SEA

Breakfast at the hotel.

An antique car ride to Pasajes San Pedro. There the boat museum Mater awaits us, a true classic Cantabrian tuna fishing boat that after its long journeys have been transformed into a floating museum about artisanal fisheries and marine life.

Then visit the Cider Museum, located in Astigarraga, we will learn about the great drink the sailors took on their ships since they could not load water given its expiration. Once we have learned the history of cider, we will taste the authentic cider house menu, composed mainly of cod, Txuleta and cheese with walnuts and cider to “txotx”.

In the afternoon, free time.

 

Day 6 - DONOSTIA - SAN SEBASTIÁN

Breakfast at the hotel.

We propose a gift for the body and senses through relaxing thalassotherapy. SPA Circuit in downtown La Perla, the way to achieve true relaxation therapy and physical toning.

 

BEFORE GOING

With a private tour guide, the schedule, duration and activities can be adjusted to meet your needs. Please, provide any special requests you have.

Please note that this tour is a culture and food tour. But, you will get a pair of local snacks as well as a walk through the old quarter of San Sebastian in order to learn about the Basque culture and gastronomy. Please note that you will not receive a full meal.

  • Cancellations between 15 days and 48 hours will be charged 50%
  • Cancellations 48 hours in advance will be charged 100%
